We are not producers of PHA raw materials. Rather we evaluate and source PHAs from various qualified suppliers for our custom formulations.
Given the wide array of methods that PHA can be produced, it does lead to product attribute variations among suppliers. Even within the same product category, i.e, a common semi-crystalline PHA from brand A can have very different attributes from brand B. This does not mean that one material is better than another, simply that there are nuances in the rheological properties that maybe better suited for one type of applications vs. the other brand.
At ecogenesis, we continuously evaluate the growing list of suppliers and material offerings to ensure we provide solutions that are consistent, free of contaminants, certified, and have the end-use attributes required.
With the end-use application in mind, we then formulate to support your operations and production. Careful consideration must be taken on material selection to ensure that the customer expectations regarding the product EOL and performance are met at the lowest possible cost.
Commercialization Experts
PHA adoption is on the rise, but the industry is still learning how to utilize this material. Commercial expertise can be hard to find.
We are fortunate to have over 35 years’ experience in commercializing traditional and bio plastics utilizing Injection Mold, Blow Mold and Extrusion Mold applications. We have extensive commercialization experience and will help commercialize your product, including on-site trial execution, mold and equipment recommendations, QC review, etc. We can fully support your efforts with on-hand and on-site solutions.
Specifically utilizing PHA, a few of the items we’ve commercialized are a 38mm beverage cap, line of beverage straws, 3D filament, shampoo cap, and shotgun wad.
