genPHA™ 3D Filament is a biopolymer compound made from natural materials. Our filament compound is designed to biodegrade without leaving pesky microplastics behind. An eco-friendly option for print enthusiasts that want to help prevent plastic pollution.
genPHA™ offers the same strength, durability and layer adhesion as PLA. However, PLA is only industrial compostable, ensuring all waste and objects will leech microplastics into the environment.
What makes genPHA™ 3D filament unique?
- Compostable and Biodegradable – Our genPHA™ is compostable and biodegradable under all conditions. You can safely place print waste and objects in a home compost bin.
- ASTM 6691 Marine Biodegradable – Our material is made in compliance with ASTM 6691. Meaning, as it biodegrades, it returns to nature leaving no microplastics in the environment.
- TÜV Austria Marine Biodegradable – Our material is made in compliance with TÜV Austria’s standard for Marine Biodegradability, eco-toxicity and fragmentation.
- Durable & Easy to Print – Strong layer adhesion, durable as PLA, easy to print and AMS compatible.
- Ease of Use – clog-free, bubble-free formula with low warpage and shrinkage.
