Coming Soon: genTPU 3D Filament

genPHA plant-based TPU filaments

ecogenesis genTPUTM Thermoplastic Polyurethane redefines sustainable innovation as the world’s first fully biodegredable, flexible TPU filament for 3d printing.  Powered by Soleic® plant-based TPUs, they are derived from plants and certified by USDA BioPreferred. genTPUTM combines cutting-edge performance with exceptional environmental responsibility.  Our TPU filaments come with a carbon footprint reduction, ranging from 7.8% to 83.8%, and they are chemically designed to completely biodegrade in the most sensitive ecosystems, including our waterways and oceans.

Sustainable 3D Printing, Made in the US.

genTPU™ 3D Filament is a plant-based thermoplastic polyurethane compound. Our plant-based filament compound is designed to biodegrade without leaving pesky microplastics behind.

genTPU™ offers the same flexibility and rubber-like characteristics as its petrochemical counterparts. However, traditional TPU is not recyclable, compostable or biodegradable. All waste and objects will leech and leave microplastics in the environment.

What makes genTPU™ 3D filament unique?

  • Biodegradable – Our genTPU™ is designed to biodegrade in marine environments.
  • ASTM D5338 Modified – Soleic® TPU’s are tested against a modified ASTM D5338, ensuring the material leaves no harmful microplastics behind.
  • TÜV Austria Marine Biodegradable – Our material is made in compliance with TÜV Austria’s standard for Marine Biodegradability, eco-toxicity and fragmentation.
  • Durable & Easy to Print – Strong layer adhesion, durable as traditional TPU, and easy to print.  Direct Extruder recommended.
  • Ease of Use – clog-free, bubble-free formula with low warpage and shrinkage.
